Family House — Njia Panda Tented Lodge
The Family House is the pinnacle of privacy and space at Njia Panda. A standalone stone-and-timber structure set slightly apart from the main lodge, it offers something rare in the world of tented camps: the feeling of having your own home in the forest. Two separate bedrooms, a full living room, and a private garden terrace make it equally suitable for a family of four, two couples travelling together, or a guest who simply wants their own world for a few days.
The house was built using local stone quarried from the Ngorongoro highlands, with timber beams sourced from sustainably managed forests in the Karatu area. The interior is furnished with pieces made by local craftspeople — hand-carved chairs, woven grass baskets, and artwork commissioned from artists in the Arusha region. It is a house that feels genuinely rooted in the place it stands.
